mb,
When I went with my thermostat replacement, I chose to go with, cool 84 C deg one. Helps with engine cooling as well as puts less strain on radiator cooling fans when A/C is off. Installation of new thermostat is paramount where little rattler thingy is in the upper position where it helps to bleed of trapped air. Dexcool coolant mix is 60/40 where 60% is coolant and the rest is distilled water. Coolant at the expansion tank is at exactly where two halves of expansion tank are fused together.
I went with open SID and using an electrical diagram, routed a toggle switch to instrument panel for purpose being of when I drive my 9-5 hard, I flick the switch and cool engine all the way to 82 - 84 C before turning ignition to off.
Best of luck,
Ro
