I posted exac same sort of probs under "Stalling" back in Feb '02, and had the same misgivings. To complete the story the car spent a week at the dealers who took the problem seriously and carefully checked the engine (with assistance from the SAAB Sweden (!)) They drove it around while metering the engine systems and managed to replicate the stalling problem and blamed the Crank Shaft Postion Sensor. They also replaced a vacuum hose, and oneway valve (between intake manifold and Crankcase), and replaced the Pressure bypass valve, and cleaned the thottle body for good measure. So Not sure which one was the real culprit (probably the cheap vacuum hose!) Car has been running OK since. (well it should be!)
Be sure to express your intense disatisfaction and stress just how dangerous this issue could be.
