I bought a 99 9-5 se v6 and am very happy with my purchase. I would recomend shopping at saab dealer and look for a car with low milage. If you buy in the saab certified used car program the warrenty is extended. Mine is for 5 years from original sales date and up to 60,000 miles. With just under 2 years and 30,000 miles left I will be in good position to pick up a nice new 04 or a good low milage used 02. I think loans are probably pretty low right now, they should give you the new car rate through saab financial. And I gotta tell you, going in for warrenty repairs and coming out with no bill is nice. Look also for some cars that have scheduled maintenance allready paid. This should be a good time of year for 99 lease returns, the 99 and the 00 are pretty much the same car. 01 and 02 are very similiar. Go with the saab, sure those japenese cars might be more reliable, but they certainly don't drive like a saab. Years ago I had a 79 mgb, great driving car, not fast but a nice road car. After that I had a 86 rx7, fast car, but it just didn't feel the road as well. Rent one for a weekend, you'll be hooked.
