When I was looking, it seemed that the '99 wagons came out later than the 9-5 sedans (which ACTUALLY were out in '98 for a VERY long model year!), and many of the bugs w/the '99 model year had been addressed by then. Just my guess/sense of it.

The '00 wagons start with some additional hp (185 vs 170 for the '99 wagons), and the '00's can be boosted with the factory ECU upgrade at the dealer, while the '99 models can't. Many people feel that the difference is very minor, but I think it helps. I would drive both years back to back and make up your own mind on this one.

There are certainly more '99's coming off leases than '00's right now, but due to the relatively late introduction of the '99 wagons, I don't think it will be much longer before the '00's start to show up. Good luck with either choice!
