No. SID1 and SID2 are teh two kinds of the Saab Information Display located above the radio/cd/mc unit. SID2 has one button more and four additional functions to display...
Replace your ACC display, especially if it can be done under warranty. Mine wasn't already, so I fixed it myself...

I had mine replaced (recall) and I didn't notice much difference. But why not to have a better optimised computer if you can?

I would just ask them to check whether all the recalls' work was already done on your car. And maybe comment on each of them to you. At least that is what I did (I bought a second hand 9^5). They must know the recall list and should be able to detect the status on your car.
