Holy smokes!

Even shifting at 3,000 rpm, and only using partial throttle, this thing is deceptively fast. Gotta love that torque curve! It doesn't *feel* fast, but then after pulling away from a red light, everyone was left behind! Checking the speedo, I was somehow going 15 mph faster than I thought! :-)

Anyhow, so far, so good. As I requested, the dealer programmed all the Tech II stuff correctly (this BB is invaluable, thank you, Scott) such as killing the shift-up light, putting the headlights on "Euro" mode, killing the "key is in the ignition" door chime, setting the autolock/unlock, and setting the alarm chirps to "soft".

Putting the headlights on "Euro" mode lets you use the foglights when the switch is in the "parking lights" position. Also, it turns off the xenon DRLs but the parking lamps are left on as DRLs instead. You can pull the DRL fuse to disable those.

Pulling back the high beam stalk lets you flash the halogen bulbs, so long as the xenons are switched off (this works regardless of whether the DRL fuse is in place or not, so long as the headlights are programmed to be in "Euro" mode)

A quick survey of the car reveals no problems, but I don't like the cheap, shiny plastic they used for the rear ACC vents. It looks like it came out of a Sunbird or Cavalier. The plastic for the interior door lock knob looks cheap, too. Wasn't like that on my 9000! Anyhow, minor quibbles.

I love this car!!

Happy Saabing,
Jason
