I installed a product called the Funoto Engineering Oil Drain Valve (page 53 of the current Summit Racing Equipment Catalog, item #FUM-F101N). This valve threads into the drain plug thread and had a lever that you press down and then turn 90 degrees to open. It is constructed of forged brass and stainless steel and is available in different sizes (you would have to contact Summit to ask them the correct size for a Saab. This valve can be used on the 2.3 liter Saab engine since the drain plug is mounted horizontally in the drain pan and not vertically, therefore the length of the valve does not affect the car's ground clearance. This valve makes oil changes ridiculously simply, merely turn the lever and out comes the oil, with no concern over frozen drain plugs, possible cross threading of the plug when you re-install it and "clean hands.! I've been using these valves on my 9000 Aero and our 9-5 and it works very nicely - cost is about $20.00.
I have no affiliation with either Fumoto Engineering or Summit Racing, just a satisfied customer with their drain valve product.
