I recently leased a 2002 Saab 9-5 Aero Sedan in Canada, with the optional Drivers Package (bi-xenon headlamps, rain-sensitive wipers, parking assistance etc.). The package adds $1800. to the list price of $57,390 to total Cdn.$59,190 = (equivalent to approx. 37,940 USF at 1.56 exchange rate).
The dealer took approx. $2400 off the list, which I felt was fair. I did not comparison shop. The location of the dealer, the professionalism of the sales person gave me the comfort to make the purchase. At the time of my making the deal and taking delivery, lease rates dropped from 1.7% to 1%, and, my rate was changed accordingly to 1%.
About a week after I received the car, I was contacted by a person from the dealer, asking me if i was satisfied with how i was treated, and how I shouldn't hesitate to call if there were any questions or problems.
Overall, the buying experience was pleasant, and almost completely stress free. Thats worth several hundred in my opinion.
