when I brought in my 00 9-5 V6 to get bushings replaced in the front end. When we (my wife and I) bought our first Saab two years ago I knew Saab made a 4 cyl. but I had NOOOO interest in buying one. I said to myself " No way a 4 banger can tow that car around" and so, I never test drove it. We love our v6 SE and as I've grown in my Saab knowledge (thanks to this board) I started to "lust" after an Aero. Well, I now also own an 02 Aero Wagon and well, lets just say, I love it. BUT STILL I did not test drive a "base" 2.3 LPT. After today, I will never look "down" on one again! This car moves, has a mellow (over NYC bumps) ride with just the right amount of sport in it. I am seriously considering trading the wifes V6 in for an 03 Linear Wagon. I find the engine punchier than the v6 (in sport mode) and I assume it's due to the less weight in the front end. Anyway, the Moral of the story is, I'm now a full fledged Saab fan and the 2.3 whether it's the LPT or the Aero is the way to go. Thanks for reading my "Saab" story.
