Hey - I just picked up my Saab 95 wagon (used) and my phone did the same thing! Out of curiousity, I then got out the manual and tried to dial my cell phone....
Either the system doesn't work right, or it's a really crappy phone system - you have to repeat yourself a lot and speak slowly to use it. And it doen't work exactly like it says it does in the manual. I did eventually get through to my cell phone, and was able to get the phone number for my car from the caller ID on my phone. Studying the manual more I found that the way Onstar bills for phone time is in "units" and I was able to dial in to find out I had 30 "units" of time! I have my own phone, so I don't really care about the time, but I'm unwilling to spend the time on the phone trying to find out who to call to have it disconnected. So, I 'll just keep it there and not use it, I suppose.
I'm hoping it rings again, now that I know how to answer it - you push the white dot button on your OnStar thingy. Maybe it will be some guy asking where his car is!
