New windshield-everyone should get one-

Just picked it up from the dealer today. My first impression was wow, crystal clear, very nice! My old windshield wasn't bad at all but what a difference. I have to thank Smithtown Saab, on Long Island. When you do the right thing we appreciate it.
I bought the car used in December, at that time they repaired a star. I did not like it but they told me it was an approved Saab repair. Now within 4 months the crack was expanding. When I informed the service writer, he checked it out and installed a new factory fresh windshield. No problem, done in one day, thankfully, cause they stuck me with a Galant rent a car that was HORRIBLE. I was hoping for a new 9-3 to try out. He said they haven't arrived yet.
I also had the weather stripping between the front and rear windows, above the black metal, replaced.
Anyone have any how to take care of the windshield tips. I would love to keep it like it is now. I never realized how much of a beating they take, but it must be considerable.
