Ed: The package that Saab is offering comes with Ronal seven spoke wheels(R-28), and either 205 OR 215 width Gislaved snows. I was pondernig the same choices you mentioned, and even though about using my OEM Aero wheels with 225/45/17 snows, but decided against that, and ordered the 205s for my Aero last week. I ran that identical package on my last 9-5 for four winters, and had no trouble here in NH. I believe that for snow you would be better served with the narrower tire for the few months of the year you need them. The Gislaved tires are exceptionally quiet, and when I sold them with my car, they still had a season to give the next owner, so I would give them very high marks. I believe that the Saab pricing is $235 per wheel ready to bolt on, at the dealer. The seven spoke R-28 would not have been my first choice for a wheel, but since I have done my front brakes with the EBC pads, dirt and dust is no longer an issue. Suggest you consider the Saab package with Gislaved tires.
