Nothing unusual is needed, just the following:
- set of "Torx" bits to fit your socket set, caliper bolts are "Torx" head but I don't remember what size. Bolts are covered with nifty little plastic caps to keep the heads clean, just pop off and back on later.
- strong pair of pliers to help remove and replace the wire bail on the outer pad. Make very careful notes, sketches, polaroids, etc.. on how this bail is positioned before removing it. They will come in handy when replacing it later, wire bail is very stiff!!
- a 6-inch or larger standard C-clamp (or brake piston compressor if you have a mechanic friend)
Last item. If you haven't done pad replacement before on any car, PLEASE get a set of pictorial instructions. It is easy to do, but a set of generic instructions will be an invaluable aid. Saab brakes are the easiest I've ever worked on. Try the local library or the internet for general illustrated brake pad instructions.
