1. Ventilated seats are optional in all models (I think) and the vast majority of '02 sedans I looked at did not have this option.
2. Cash incentive should be viewed as automatic discount off the sticker price. If you pay the sticker price less the discount you would be crazy.
Figure out what the invoice price of the car is (including the invoice price for the factory-installed options such as automatic, premium package, etc), subtract the rebate, and then add any non-negotiable charges added by the dealer (delivery fee, registration fee, etc.). This will give you a ROUGH estimation of what the dealer paid for the car. Even if the dealer sold the car at this price he will still make $$ on holdback (2.2% for Saab) and any floor plans, maybe even some unpublished (secret) factory-dealer incentives. I view this as the UPPER limit for what I'm going to consider paying for a "closeout" car. Remember, the dealer is still going to make money, but you have to be willing to LEAVE if they aren't willing to be reasonable or competitive. Call at least 2 dealers so you can get an idea about how willing they are to deal.
You should be very agressive with the '02s as I'm sure they are desperate to get them off the lot. I got an '02 in late August (Linear sedan) and the rebate then was $6750 (i.e. almost 3K more than the current incentive), so if that failed to sell their remaining '02s in August then you can be more agressive now, in my opinion. If you make an agressive offer, tell them you already have financing and can have the $$ to them very quickly (and of course, make sure you DO have the money ready). That may help. Good luck

ps-to the salesmen, i'm not against you making a profit, i'm just against you making a profit OFF ME!
