Don't understand "rough idle" comment

My V6 idles very smoothly and quietly. When I first got the car, I had to doublecheck after starting because I couldn't tell it had started. This is in comparison to my 1986 9000T, which left you no doubt. All inline 4's have an inherent vibration, sometimes manifested as a booming noise. That's why some, including the current Saab 4's, have the balance shafts. Those help, but do not cure. All these engines are fine, and all make some kind of noise. My V6 makes a fair amount of noise upon hard acceleration, which surprised me at first. I have grown to kind of like it, but it took a bit of getting used to.
