Well - maybe they should simply take the Hirsch concept and market it as a Viggen - since the Viggen name is obviously worth something, at least to those on this board, it would only make sense to do so.

It would be interesting to review GM's internal short and long term analyses and plans for Saab. In my view, they have a potential goldmine that they don't really seem to know how to market. Granted, the new 9-3 is a good start, but they've got to aggressively market the product or their investment will fail. I see 300 ads for Nissans, Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, every single day (ok maybe not every day). I never see a Saab ad. Why?

A 9-5 Viggen would certainly be a relatively inexpensive way of adding a new exciting product without spending too much cash revamping the 9-5 line at this time. Given that they just spent so much money revamping the 9-3 line, they probably want to eek a couple more years out of the old 9-5.

Just my two cents . . .
