Skirts...

Had my 30-day check today (actually 5 weeks and 1500 miles). Decided to have the oil changed as well (I always changed oil after the first 1000 miles and had a SAAB coupon from my previous car, so the dealer did it for free). Anyway, I had to return back because I noticed oil on the floor. This time I asked to see the car to make sure that there were no cracks in the sump casing. I noticed that the skirt was really bent while the car was on the lift. The dealer said it is difficult to avoid with the Aeros skirts... I then noticed that there was a visible dent in the skirt after the car was lowered. To make a long story short, the dealer ordered a new skirt and said he would call me back after it is painted to replace.
My question: Are the aero's skirts that vulnerable to lifing?! Will this always be an issue every time the car is serviced? If thats the case, is it a waste to replace now ?
I wounder what are people's experience with these skirts, and is there a way to guard against such damage.
Any thougts are much appreciated.
Regards
