I'm all in favor on advising Saab owners to remove the cowl cover in order to clear debris from the blower motor. I've had to do this on my 9-5 to remove a leaf that found it's way down in there somehow. However, a gear puller is not necessary nor would I recommend using one for that application. I would advise DIY 9-5 owners to loosen the wiper arm nuts about one turn (not removing them) and tap the studs with a plastic hammer or small rubber malot. They will break free and then can be removed. Just remember to use a small awl to clean all of the splines on the arm and stud prior to re-installation. this is a really easy thing to do and I can't even imagine what the dealer would charge to do it. An especially wonderful experience if the mechanic uses a gear puller to do it. Ugh!
