I have an SE (same as the Arc) and had the same brake dust issue. It's just the way the pads are made. They will dust like this until you replace them. It's not a defect or a poor design, it's the way they are.

I slapped on a set of Pagid pads last week after 25K of city/suburban driving. The OE pads were 80% worn. So far the Pagid's do not seem to dust as much but they're not a major improvement in that dept.

When it comes time to replace also consider Rotex and EBC. I passed on EBC's due to the high price and some questionable reviews on other net boards. The Pagid's were $55/set from a TSN sponsor, e-Europarts.com.

Nothing to worry about now but info to keep in mind. In the meantime keep a good coat of wax or polymer sealant on them and use a mild wheel cleaner (no acid cleaners!!!!!) and a soft brush to clean them.

And I agree 110% about the stereo. Those that don't like don't know what they're listening to. Edmunds gave it such high praise that the only thing they could criticize is the lack of an in-dash CD changer.
