It takes 2 minutes to clear those drains. There are other body drains that need it too, espeially as the car ages. It s part of the Major service to me and something I do when I get a New customer for a minor service. While Im letting the oil drain ....I inspect the underside, clear drains, check brakes and set tire pressures. I ignore the drains on Saabs I have performed major service on till next major. I also use two different protector waxes on the underside as well in the motor compartment. One wax is like the perserve that coats military weapons that are in storage. "cosmoline sp?" It is especially good for protecting battery terminals and area of the battery, contact points at the emergency brake cables and ground wires. The other wax is softer. It works well on axel boots, seat and window slides. It is also excellent for stopping the squeaks and crackle of plastic on plastic such as in the dash area etc. One form of wax protector get applied for nearly every operation I perform. The rule is simple ...If you dont want it to corrode or bind up ...WAX IT! LOL
