0-60 for the Saturn is on average 7.4 seconds and 1/4mi is 16. The cars weigh less than the 9-5 (think polymer panels and fewer features) and are geared quite differently to make up for the lower power ratings. The automatic is pretty good as well. It seems to have a higher stall speed torque converter than I am used to. Its one of the few automatic cars that gets its fastest 0-60 times by just mashing the pedal. The transmission also shifts slowly and smoothly if you are driving that way or with quick snaps if you are driving aggressively.
That being said, the only 9-5 that my wife found acceptable was the Aero. We absolutely LOVE the Aero which is better in every way.
