Seems a bit premature to me. I have 53,000 mi. on my '99 V-6 and the rotors are fine and the pads about 1/2 worn. My last 2 cars ('95 Ford Windstar & '89 Toyota Cressida) had over 120,000 mi. on each, and I never replaced the pads or rotors on them. Of course, I don't do a lot of "big city" driving.
