a couple of summers ago (while I was still in OKC), we sold a '99 Viggen (Rob Catron's old car) to a gentleman in Denver, Colorado. It was a pristine 12k mile example (I'm pretty sure the mileage was 12k). Anyway, the car arrives, and I get a call from the customer. He was extremely upset that we sold him a car with a torn front spoiler, and that the car was filthy inside and out (it looked as if it had been driven on gravel, and the front wheels were black from brake dust). To make a long story short, the mileage was 63 miles higher when the vehicle arrived than when it left. In the end, the trucker didn't pay for a dime. We ate the cost of replacing the bumper cover, and detailed the car. What a nightmare. Needless to say, that was the last time that the driver hauled anything for us. Of course, afterwards we had decided to use only one shipping company. They were more expensive, but we had no further problems, and the cars were USUALLY on time or early.
Cheers,
Brian.
