I guess once in a while the paint doesn't get baked right, or hardened right, or something. My '90 was "rose quartz" and suffered leading edge stone chips more than any Saab before or since. At the time I was intent on constructing a tester made from a spring and a ball bearing, to demonstrate to the Zone Rep that my car was not up to snuff. Then my son almost a doctor (at the time) put the car into a guardrail, relieving me of the necessity.
