First, welcome to Arc/SE ownership. My '00 SE has been superb for 27k miles and I'm sure yours is an even better car than mine.
Second, I've asked several petrochemical engineers and lubrication specialists (no, not Jiffy Lube employees) about SAAB semi-synth oil and to date no one knows for sure who makes it and where (speculation is Castrol in Europe). No engineer I've talked to reallty likes semi-synth because the base oil is still dino Group II or II+ with a few more additives. A store bought dino oil like Chevron Supreme is about as good for a lot less $$.
So go full synth ASAP. Most of us like Mobil One due to its retail availability. But also consider Redline, Schaeffers, Royal Purple, and Amsoil. Of those only Amsoil is sold using a MLM-type scheme which isn't appealing to some folks. But it is a great product and worthy of consideration.
good luck and enjoy the car.
