Suspension question . . .

i'm about 400 miles into my used 9-5 2.3, and am putting together a list of things to have my dealer do (dash bulbs, loose this, squeaky that).
Anyhow, i've noticed that the front suspension seems a bit suspect and i want to know if it's me or the car.
The surface streets in chicago are not known for being glassy smooth, and when i drive on slightly rough streets, the front passenger's side seems to vibrate/thunk ever so slightly. it's not a full on clunking or rattling--i can just feel it in the steering wheel a bit.
is this normal?
my previous car was a '94 525, and although i won't go into the myriad of problems/money i poured into it, the suspension was always as solid as it was on the in-service date. because of this, i'm hypersensitive to the slightest tic in the suspension.
i don't want to go to the dealer to point out a problem that doesn't exist.
thanks in advance, and for all of the advice i've received to date--this is an outstanding forum.
