In my previous 9-3, I did not have ESP thus did not have to worry about it kicking in and irritate my driving behavior. On the M3, I always turned DSC off but found that annoying to do everytime.
Now Bimmers do not have any TechII things so I was wondering if there was a way to turn off the ESP all the time until when I needed it. The 03 Aero is brand spankin new. 1500 miles or so.... And I find that the ESP turns on more often than not. Tires etc... are all in operational parameters.
Dry pavement is the culprit here as I'm not Mr. Andretti in wet weather where the ESP is a plus.
On the M3 dsc can be turned off ASAP. But on the Aero, I have to slow all the way down or come to a dead stop to shut it off. Maybe I am much more of an aggressive driver than others..... who knows.... all I know is I buy cars to drive them and not have them look pretty in my garage or parking lot. ;-)
1. The tire are the same as yours.
2. While you were making your left hand turn, you did chirp the tires but found that ESP did react a little, needless to say it did react. Driving the M3 and Aero back to back, I find the DSC a little forgiving and it allowing more spin than the ESP which in my personal opinion over reacts or acts too soon. I sure wish she was adaptable.
Does anyone else experience the same thing or am I being too picky. Maybe I am not use to the ESP. FYI, even though you can turn ESP off, it is always on and is 100% functional when applying the brakes.
