Regreasing by way of observation

The intervals seem to be dependant on a variety of factors, such as driving style, type of grease, under-hood temps, etc. Coolknight said he uses a copper grease on his Forge valve, since M1 was difficult for him to find (Switzerland) & the other greases he tried would "wash away" after a short time. Since the Hyper has a Teflon coating, you have some extra insurance if you don't regrease the valve before it needs it. Coolknight feels the Teflon coating is an advantage, but I'm not as convinced. I'm assuming it's an aluminum anodization process, which is different from what you'll find on the surface of your frying pan. I've used this process for several mechanical assembly tool designs, & it provides a great surface for this type of application. Of course, you have to remember that Teflon's claim-to-fame is that it doesn't want anything to stick to it, & that would include any type of grease.
I would probably check it at 3mos/3k mi just to see what's going on inside (Jason: do you have to disassemble the whole thing just to take a look?), & keep checking at that interval until you have an idea of what to expect for set of condition.
