SAAB offers higher discounts then both BMW and Audi
so there is quite a large price difference.

The SAAB 9-5 Aero will also outperform a 530i and the A6 2.7T
if you get the 5spd version. If you wish to get an Auto gearbox
the A6 will offer the best performance, but then again it
will not come close to the 5spd Aero performance.

The AERO is not a great 0-60 performer but at any speed above
45Mph it has more punch then the 2.7T and 530i.
I tested :) vs a 330i which also was unable to follow the
accel. of my Aero, but this was at 1500 feet of altitude where
the prehistoric non turbo engines start to lose power.

While the 2.7T seems close in performance with a 6spd manual gearbox
it suffers from its extra AWD friction and is slower in higher
gears then the Aero 5spd. (I am not saying that the A6 2.7T is slow)

The Aero also burns less fuel then the A6 2.7T which can be an
advantage and certainly is one for the environment.

As to the 530... 535s can't follow my Aero, starting with the 540
the 5 series is faster... but then we're in a completely different
price range!

At 3000 ft of altitude I raced a A6 4.2AUTO v8 and the Aero did
pull away in acceleration... but here altitude was the key combined
with a low pressure front.

So after all that, if you get a good deal on a 5spd Aero
you might get a car that can be anoying to others quite a bit.

P.S. Remind you 5spd Aero have 20sec overboost during which
they have 240hp at 5000 rpm as well as some extra torque.

Regards,
Coolknight drives a 5spd 9-5 Aero
