the newer car will have a lower lease price than the older car. The end-of-lease residual of a 4 year old vs. a 3 year old car (in the case of the 3 year lease) usually throws the calculation to the point that leasing leftovers is futile. Simply put, if the difference in residual price is often greater than the discount offered for the leftover model, the new car will lease for less. If the discount is greater than the difference in residuals, then the calculation goes the other way.

On a lease through Saab Financial, "gap insurance" is part of the package. That means if the car is totalled, the "gap insurance" picks up the difference between what you owe and what the insurance pays. That is something to insist upon in any lease. You don't want to come away from the next corner holding nothing but a bent steering wheel and a bill for several thousand dollars.

Other than that, the '03 linear includes optional Xenon lighting, something worth recommending.
