Martin - the install is actually easier than it looks; Saab's instructions are poorly worded. Are you also installing a handsfree phone kit or just the mounting cradle??
Anyways, here are the basic steps I took:
1) Remove the ashtray (requires a lot of wiggling)
2) pull the gearshifter boot out of the way
3) remove the 2 or three screws holding the wood dash piece to the underframe; after doing so you should be able to lift this piece up and away from the trim about 1/2 inch, just enought to get the two tabs of the cell mount underneath the righthand side of the trim piece. If not, you may have to remove the ACC unit: it just pops out if you slide a thin piece of metal on either side and apply lateral pressure
4) So: once you've figured out how to fit the tabs under the wood dash, you need to pull back the carpet as shown in the installation instructions, so as to reveal the metal bracket on the right side of the ACC. If you hold the phone mounting kit up to the area, you'll see that there is a tab with a screwhole, which matches up with a hole in the metal bracket to the right of ACC. However, this hole is filled with either a plastic tab-screw or a cable tie. You need to cut the cable tie or remove the tab (which secures in place a set of wire loom) and re-attach this wire to another point slightly below the original. This is illustrated in the manual
5) Finally, slide the gold-colored tab over the now-empty hole, so that the screw for the bracket can be attached. THen, you can slide the tabs of the phone bracket in FIRST, and then rotate the unit around so that the hole matches up with your newly created mounting spot. Hold the bracket firmly in the right spot, and attach with the screw. Then, replace the carpet (it is held in by friction, so just push it in) and cut away any sections that impede the bracket.
Good Luck
Nate
