If you have a 9-5 0f 2002 or newer. The factory fill of coolant is Saabs variety of GM's DexCool. An Orange colored coolant. And that type of coolant should be used.
When flushing a coolant system, it's always a chance that a little airbubble becomes trapped somewhere in the system. It might take a little while before that airbubble have moved up to the expansion tank.
That's probably what happened in your case, and it triggered the low coolant warning light.
What you can do is to use regular water and top of the expansion tank up to the level mark.
I bet it's not going to be more than a drinking glass of water needed. This amount of clear water will not offset the balance of coolant mixture.
If you need to fill it up with more, you better go back to that mechanic and have him correct it with the right stuff of coolant mixture.
