Hello Dean

The Front dash speakers are 3.5" units 4ohm. If you replaced these units with Infinity Kappa 32.1 CF co-axial units the crispness will be vastly improved. These units are a direct exchange, and fit nicely. They are reasonably priced, and most people rate them as the best speakers you can buy in the 3.5" size.

Of course if you want to make the hole a bit bigger and fit a 4" unit, then the horizons are dramatically increased, and you have a much wider choice. This is a more labour intensive option, and of course the units will be more expensive.

Remember you are always limited by the Amp for sound quality, so there is a limit to what improvements are realistic and cost effective.

The centre speaker is active and helps the sound stage, but I believe that this is wired in a special way. (its not just a spur off one of the left or right channels)

I bought the Infinity Kappa's and I am very pleased with the result.
