Don't wait 'till warranty expires....... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: extended warranty in California, Scott Hanson, Tue, 7 Jan 2003 13:37:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Purchasing an extended warranty for a vehicle still under warranty is better than waiting until after the warranty expires. Before the warranty expires you'll get a plan that begins on what's called the "in service date", the date the car was new and you'll get more complete coverage for less money. The factory warranty was "4/50" and you'll be able to extend that to as much as "7/100" or more. After the warranty expires you'll only be able to get an extended warranty in year increments. "12/12" or "24/24" and the like.
I recommend the General Motors Protection Plan or "GMPP". It won't be the cheapest, but you'll have less hassles and loopholes down the line. You should be able to get this warranty brand from your local Saab or GM dealer.
