that normally occurs when the car is braked when going in reverse on cars with drum brakes, probably doesn't on cars with the drum brake only functioning as parking.
With the shoes used for primary braking, normal wear is to be expected, and compensated for.
For parking brake, unless you're driving around with the brakes on, there shouldn't be wear, granted this could happen. More importantly, normal reverse braking wouldn't activate the drum brake, only disc, so the drum couldn't adjust.
That's my guess.
