On a 9-3 (2,0 lpt, not a diesel) there is no remote.... The SID controls all functions.
I have manual AC, and the cabin ventilator starts right after the heater has started.
I have to set the heater control on max-heat and the air-distribution on defrost/floor. Works great, the cabin (and the engine) is heated in 15 minutes with the temperature being –5 to –10 degrees Celsius. You can hear the cabin ventilator running all the time.
My understanding is, that the only difference to the ACC model is, that the ACC control unit operates the heater control and air-distribution with 20 minutes defrost and thereafter combined defrost/floor setting (by default?). Could be different for a diesel? Can you hear the ventilator running?
I have asked my dealer for a remote, preferably controlled by the cell phone, just like the aftermarket Eberspächer heaters have (Calltronic). No luck until now..
Is it possible to get a remote, working in conjunction with the SID?
BTW:
I have observed, that occasionally the reverse lights are turned on during the heating phase.
Not full lights – just dimmed lights. Anybody knows why?
Best regards
