IIRC, the ECM recall had something to do with the material used to mount the ECM in the engine. The letter Saab sent me said something about changing this. There might have also been a programming change, but regardless, even if it hasn't been done, the car is still under warranty, and you can have it done at your convienience.
In other news, reviewing the 1999 9-5 sales brochure (I keep them for times like this), I found some incorrect info. It listed a base with the 4 cylinder 170 hp 2.3 lpt, and a non-SE V-6, and a V-6 SE. No mention of the 4 cylinder SE I have out on the driveway. I guess it was a fourth option added after printing, and it has since been dropped, along with the base trim V-6 (although I don't know if that even existed). The options on the base trim were automatic, leather, leather ventilated seats, heated seats, and the sunroof. The upgraded radio was only in SE, and not listed as an option. SE's also say SE above the side turn signals. There were solid colors, mica colors, and metallic colors. I think the solids were free, and the others were extra.
