I don't recall hearing about any torque increase for the 185hp engine. The SAAB LPT performance comes from the 207 foot pounds of torque which is flat across the area of normal driving (1800 - 3200rpm). I would opt for the 4 vs the 6 since this is still the tried and proven SAAB engine. If you need a larger engine for hauling heavier loads or towing, the 6 might be better. I have a 2.3 and would not have it any other way. Loaners I have had with the 6 did not impress me and they did consume more fuel. Good luck with your choice.
