what are the chances that something will be found defective between 60,000 miles when the factory warranty clicks off and the 100,000 miles when most aftermarket warranties expire (and you project changing your vehicle). Compare that to the cost of the warranty. Defective parts generally show up before 60,000 miles. Covered parts seldom wear out before 100,000 miles.
A better case can be made in the case of a used Saab, especially a "certified used" warranty, where the prior history is uncertain.
