I have a second Saab, a 102k 97' 900S convt and I was thinking of selling it a few months back (the transmission is slipping a little, ugh), but my bank told me that almost no lending institution would give a potential buyer a loan for a car over 100k. Tturboy's point about the time frame of resale seems very relevant for such a high mileage car.

I don't know, the idea of a 90k mile car to start out from sounds like a recipe for trouble... it's just how much are you willing to put up with in order to get the reduced cost. I realize as relates to my 900S that I should've traded it in on a 9-5 back when it was under 70k to get a better trade in and to avoid the current transmission issue and the recurring motor problems with the top. When I tried to trade it in on my 02 every Saab dealer I visited offered me no more than $4k, on a car that had cost just about $30k when my parents and I got it in 97'. Shit. Did we overpay or what. Anyway, I kept the it because of fond memories in the car, cuteness of the car (it's metallic beige with a black top and creamy being leather), and the necessity of the once perceived difference between a convertible and the fat 9-5 sedan. Still, I rarely use the little bugger and it simply sits and depreciates more.
