I had a friend in high school who managed to drive into a deer with a Suzuki Swift. Fortunately, nobody (excluding the deer, of course) was hurt but the car was a write off. It bounced off the hood and went up and over. Took out the windshield too, but didn't go through it.
About 6 or 7 years ago I was flying down a back road late one night with a friend in my Miata. We came over a blind hill at around 130kms/hr to find a deer standing in the middle of the road. Evasive manoevering on both mine and the deer's part prevented a collision- lucky Miata's handle so well! My friend was pretty impressed that we'd seen a deer. I don't think city-boy understood the gravity of the situation!
