I agree about the pad size being irrelevant too- the only things in play here once you take the moment from the larger rotor out of the equation is the clamping force provided by the caliper and the coeficient of friction between the pad and the rotor. A pad with a larger contact area will last longer though all other things being equal.
I was confused by the tire rack site too, in addition to the prices the rear rotor was listed as "solid" when the Aero has ventilated rotors on the rear!
