Update on my fuel pump fiasco...(see link) http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/9-5/index.html?bID=47684
I have managed to go after the fuel distributor to get compensation for the dealer charges. Looks like most of this will be covered, including my rental car charges...but things get more interesting...
Car gets fixed last Wed, guess what???? Check engine light goes back on! Call dealer - they claim this is normal but bring it on in...gets dropped off and told by service person that they never replaced the bad fuel that they claim caused the fuel pump to freeze...(is there something wrong with this picture??)
So they give us a loaner car. Wake up the next morning...guess what..loaner car has a flat tire! What a farce. Thankfully the kind sales staff gives us a new 9-3SS (very nice and I will post my driving impressions on the 9-3 board later). I did learn that you can pump a tire up with a bike pump - takes a few minutes but I recommend everyone put a bike pump in their trunk!
After 2 days we get the diagnosis - failed DI cassette (which I suspected was the original problem). Fixed at no charge! But we are told to drive car to burn off 1-2 tanks of gas....why I have no idea...
