Hello, all...I'm a dual-board man now! I just got my hands on a 99 9-5 SE (2.3 LPT) as a gift for my mother. (Scarabe Green, auto, ventilated, 63k). My oh my is the T-7 smooth. Worlds more refined than my NG900 (95 900SET), they really worked on that 'right foot psychology'.
I'm keeping the 900SE, of course ... that is, until my wife drives the 9-5 a couple times before 'delivery', takes the keys, and requires I give my mother a fruit basket instead. ;)
A few questions as I get it ready for her birthday in mid-April (I'm DIYing a Major Service, more or less):
I plan on doing the idlers (one is already starting to talk, right on time). Any advice on getting the motor mount out of the way, or is it straightforward? Is the short belt an option, and would it be the same length as the one worked out for the NG?
Since I've read the radio and car are 'married' by the Tech2, does that mean they've done away with the 'CODE IN' bit (a la NG900)? (i.e. can I pull the battery without fear?)
I will have to make a dealer trip to program remotes, etc., are there any 'choice' Tech2 option changes I should consider?
I'll think of more, thanks all...
