You should have no problem during the day especially. Since the ambient light outside the car in daytime is much brighter than inside the car, visibility through the shade is not a problem. If you have every driven a SUV or minivan with the rear privacy tinting, you notice that it is very difficult to see in, but no problem at all seeing out. At night, you probably won't see headlights until they are closer, but you should not be driving at night with the shade up anyway. Since my wife and I are expecting, I plan to install the shade soon. Especially with the rear-facing child seats in the back seat.
