There are two choices for service manuals, both available at http://www.genuinesaab.com (site sponsor)
and probably other places too.
The less expensive version is around $15 and will detail how to perform the major interval service work (i.e. 30,000 miles; 60,000 miles).
Your other choice is the Saab W.I.S., or Workshop Information System. This retails for $375, comes on a CD, and is the full factory service manual for 9-5's. This version is available at on-line auction sites quite regularly for 1/3 to 1/2 of the retail cost.
If you elect to bid on a W.I.S., make sure it is the real thing. There are a number of "Service Manuals" posted for sale that are only parts lists. The official Saab parts list (also on CD) retails for around $20.
If you want a W.I.S. at a lower price, are willing to wait a while, but don't want to deal with an auction site, send me an e-mail. Although mine was obtained at auction, the seller was an automotive publication dealer (service, parts, and owner's manuals) who gets a few of the W.I.S. each year. I will give you the name and contact information for the company.
Hope this helps.
