a bit better. If I want a perfect fit, I think the hinge has to be adjusted. Mind you that the difference I am talking about is about 2mm at best :-), and yes, the bump stop should be about 3cm in length.
To those who has a reason to do the same, it is very easy to get to the hook. Just open the spare tire lid, pop out two plastic pop-rivets on the cover trim partly situated inside the spare tire compartment. Next, pull on the trim on each side toward the front of the car. There is a clip on each side that attaches to the car body. With the cover off, you can adjust the hook by loosening the nut on it. The rest is just trial and error. However, there is a limit as how far down you can make it as the rear lid travel is also limited by the hinge mechanism. I don't know what tightening torque is for the nut, I just torqued it back with 20ft-lb on my wrench.
