When I removed the hose I did not notice any residue from an adhesive, but I did notice the short lip area for the hose to fit on. Aware of the pressure that can occur here when you lift off throttle, I made sure the hose was pushed all the way down and then used a very good helping of torque to firmly secure the hose clamp.
