A slight down hill shouldn't have caused a problem. As mentioned by Noel, a sun roof is going to leak and is isn't designed to be leak proof. What happens is that there is a trough around the edges of the roof, with drains probably at all 4 corners of the trough. It appears that at least one of yours is plugged so the water over flowed the trough and got into the car. When I had the great flood in my previous car (an Alfa 164), the problem turned out to be the two front drains being plugged and not at the entrance to the drain tubes. These tubes drained into there area in front of the windshield where the air enters for the air conditioning and had caps with cross slits in them, probably flow limiters to prevent gurgling sounds. The car is dead but I think the caps are still in my tool box (permanent fix). I haven't had cause to investigate the system in my 9-5 yet but I wouldn't be surpised if the front drains end in the same location
