I think. If you fade front to back, with your left hand on the front door speaker, you will see that they stop working just after the notch in the middle, going toward the back. I don't know where the bass comes from after that, but subwoofers will always sound like they have a pillow over them. Anyone else want to fill this dialogue out? I'd like a fuller understanding as well.
